Not that anybody ever needs a reason to go skateboarding, but
June 21st provides the best reason of all: Go Skateboarding Day!
GSD is a day where skateboarders from all around the world hit the
streets, the parks, and anything else skateable, to shred and have a
great time.
The greatest thing about skateboarding is that it’s just you and your
board. You are your only opponent, your coach, the referee, and the
cheering section. There’s nobody telling you where to ride, or what
trick to do. You can spend hours focused on a trick until you nail
it, and when that moment finally arrives, you enjoy a tremendous
feeling of triumph. It’s a boost that stays with you for the rest of
the day, and elevates the mood of your entire surroundings.
WHAT ARE YOU
DOING TODAY?
GO SKATE (DAY)!
KRISTOFER CACCIOTTI : CITY’S WORLD
Go Skateboarding Day is not only about having a great day skating,
it’s a movement to raise awareness about skateboarding and
the skateboarding culture. Go Skateboarding Day aims to bring
attention to issues surrounding the sport, and to improve and
maintain a positive image amongst the global community, while
staying true to its origins as a quasi-rebellious outlet to express
creativity and imagination.
So, on June 21st, you know what to do. Even if you don’t
skateboard, get out to the park, find a skate session,
take some photos, shoot a vid. PARTICIPATE! Get
outside, get active, and most importantly,
have an amazing day… because that’s
what skateboarding is all about.
