ATHLETE
OF THE MONTH
Name: Celine Loyer, 24
Hometown: Chelmsford, Ontario
Sport: Indoor 50m/60m Outdoor 100m, 200m sprints
20SS: Why sprinting? How did you get into this sport?
CL: I had always gravitated to sports in general. When I was in grade 11, my high school
coach realized I had potential and asked me if I would be interested in working with a worldclass sprint coach. I decided it was something I wanted to do and made a commitment

permanently and professionally.
20SS: Who is your biggest role model or inspiration in or out of
sports, and why?
CL: My coach, David, without him I wouldn’t be in this sport. And my family – they never
questioned whether I should be doing this. They always told me to follow my dreams. Also
Narada Michael Walden; he is a hard worker and has accomplished great things. He’s funny,
a wicked drummer and a great supporter.
