20SS: What inspired you to get into hip hop and performing?
JB: The first time I was exposed to hip hop I was hooked. As a child, the whole
culture just put the zap on me.
20SS: What is your favourite scene or venue to perform?
JB: I love performing anywhere with a crowd. Speakeasy is a great spot
because it’s got a very intimate feel to it.

20SS: Who are some of your favourite artists/influences?
JB: Wu-Tang Clan, Cypress Hill, Biggie, 2pac, Beastie Boys, A Tribe Called
Quest. Present artists: Schoolboy Q, Joey Badass
20SS: What is your typical Sudbury Saturday night?
JB: A typical Stompin’ Tom Connors Sudbury Saturday Night to me is getting
together with some friends at Peddler’s Pub for a couple brews and live music.
20SS: What are your plans for the future?
JB: I have a couple videos in the works and I’m planning on throwing down
a video release party sometime in early 2014. Until PRIMETIME Pt. 2 comes
out this summer, I’m looking to release some new material with my new DJ/
beat maker Uian Fenton aka UZ. I also plan on collaborating with more local
artists this year.
20SS: What is your most memorable experience as a musician?
JB: My cd release weekend was probably the most memorable experience.
Just being able to perform at all my favorite bars and help promote some
new downtown business (Black Apple Studio, the Seven 0’ Five) was a great
opportunity for me. The response was amazing.
20SS: What is your favourite thing about Sudbury?
JB: Sudbury is a tough city with tough people. We’re still behind the times
but act like we’re ahead of the game and that’s what I love. The downtown
core is full of great musicians and great businesses who actually care about
the progress of our city.
20SS: What are your interests outside of music?
JB: I only have three passions in life; music, food and women.
20SS: If you could pick the song to play at your funeral,
what would you want it to be?
JB: Hypnotize by Biggie Smalls. (You heard it here; I don’t want any cheesy
ass depressing funeral music to be played upon my death)
20SS: What was the first piece of music (cd/vinyl/cassette)
you bought?
JB: Cassette - Nirvana-nevermind. CD - Wu Tang Clan-36 chambers.
Vinyl - Gangstarr-Full Clip Lp
20SS: Tell us a bit about your latest CD release, PRIMETIME.
JB: PRIMETIME is basically a look into my life during my mid-twenties; the
glitz and glamor, the rags to riches, the anxiety of growing up. It’s about a man
trying to find himself in this chaotic world of sex, drugs and social disarray.
