Η άρση είναι ένα από τα κλασικά
ολυμπιακά αθλήματα, αφού
διεξάγεται στις Ολυμπιάδες από το
1896 στην Αθήνα. Σκοπός του
αθλήματος είναι ο αθλητής να
σηκώσει την μπάρα με τα βάρη
ποιο ψηλά από τον θώρακα. Όποιος
σηκώσει πιο πολλά βάρη είναι ο
νικητής.
