He is a guy from Lesotho, Holy Cross and now he resides in
Witbank aged (33). He comes from a medium family of four and
he is the only son and surrounded by 3 ladies. He is Bokang
Johannes Motebele but better known as Mzerewa.
WHY MZEREWA?
The name came in a form of a dream after I prayed for a long
the name, it was written in bold yellow latters presented by my
grandmother who gave birth to my mother. That’s how I got the
name Mzerewa and it was presented in a form of a cassette
completely packaged.

The journey started in 2001 back in Lesotho

second album ‘Jersey Number 10’ and Zola
with ‘Mdlwembe’. That’s where my desire and
ambition to do music, specifically kwaito
started.

was done and dusted in February 2015. Now

for the title track under Mahlalela
Entertainment Production.
WHERE DO YOU DRAW INSPIRATION
FROM?
I still draw the inspiration from my icons that
made me as well Big Nuz and Deejay Clock.
My journey has drastically different from 2015 when I was
working with Malaga’s Entertainment because he taught
me things which prepared and shaped me to be equipped.
Since I came to Mahlalela Entertainment Production
because I am experiencing things that I didn’t expect and
the challenges help me grow a thicker skin from within.
Now I can witness that things are blossoming from the
horizon of my path.
