Two State Solution is the
common phrase used by
international leaders and
many organizations in the
world. The phrase itself shows that
this Two-States Solution encourage
for resolving the Israeli-Palestinian
dispute by establishing two states for
two communities. Being proposed by
the Oslo Accords, this Two- States
Solution is a starting point of a series of
historic events that continued for many
years.
For many decades, the idea to
bring peace and a solution to the
Israelis and Palestinians conflict
seemed to be impossible to achieve.
Many parties have a notion that Israelis
and Palestinians can share the land,
which they assume as a Holy Land by
living separately and as an independent
nation. However, their notion goes
wrong. What is really obstructing
Israelis and Palestinians to come to
terms? Do they not want peace?
The One-United State and two
separate states had a difference in terms
of ethics and philosophy. Two-States
Solution involved the separation,
insecurity and territory, whereas the
One-State Solution comprises the
merging of Israel, the West Bank, and
the Gaza Strip to form one big country.
Who is Gideon Levy?
Gideon Levy is a Haaretz columnist
and a member of the newspaper's
editorial board. Levy joined Haaretz
in 1982, and spent four years as the
newspaper's deputy editor. He is the
author of the weekly Twilight Zone
feature, which covers the Israeli
occupation in the West Bank and Gaza
over the last 25 years, as well as the
writer of political editorials for the
newspaper.
Levy was the recipient of many
journalist’s awards and also wrote
the books such as his new book, The
Punishment of Gaza, has just been
published by Verso Publishing House
in London and New York.
The writer and journalist Gideon
Levy have been a lone voice, telling
his readers the truth about what goes
on in the Occupied Territories. Gideon
Levy is not criticizing Israel. He is
portraying it as the devil and that is
very dangerous.
Over the years, Levy's stories
have helped to expose how Israeli
soldiers act with impunity towards
Palestinian citizens. Some Israelis see
Levy as a hero, shedding crucial light
on the disturbing consequences of the
occupation. Others denounce him as a
propagandist for the Palestinians. His
work has made him a target of those
who see him as an enemy of Israel.
His stories force his Israeli
audience to imagine themselves in
the circumstances faced by their
Palestinian neighbors. Today, millions
of people outside Israel read Levy's
columns online to understand the
injustice Palestinians face. He believes
his stories are making a difference.
Levy defines himself as a "patriotic
Israeli". He criticizes what he sees as
Israeli society's moral blindness to the
effects of its acts of war and occupation.
He has referred to the construction of
settlements on private Palestinian land
as "the most criminal enterprise in
(Israel's) history".
Two-State Solution or One-State
Solution
The question is still there in what
kind of ideology will bring peace and
solve the conflict between Palestine and
The controversial journalist , Gideon Levy
Israel. Will it be the Two-State Solution
or the One-State Solution that will end
the conflict of the two states? There
were many speculations floating on the
internet regarding the two ideologies
and some said the Two-State Solutions
would never happen and One-State
Solution was already practiced in Israel
decades ago.
As the Two-State Solution means
independence for both states, One-State
Solution actually refers to the Israel,
West Bank and Gaza Strip formed
into one country. However, as per
said by Gideon Levy during the Two-
State Solution Debate, the One-State
Solution has existed in Israel for 50
years and they never had the intention
of going for the Two-States Solution.
“It is really almost historical irony
to see now official representatives of
Israel coming and defending the twostate
solution,
“And if this is not enough, anyone
who builds one terrorist in the occupied
territories has no intention to go for
the two-state solution period!” he said
during the debate as a proposition.
Stressing that it was a lie that
One-State Solution did not exist, he
mentioned that the solution was always
there, however what makes it different
