The Walking Horse Association of Michigan held its annual Awards Banquet April 12, 1969 at the Hastings Hotel in Hastings, Michigan. The evening began with President John Sackett calling the meeting to order and Mrs. Harriett Hayner giving the invocation. Mel Norman was the emcee for the presentation of awards.
Officers for 1969 are: Dr. John Sackett, President; Barney Chance, Vice President; Paige Emmons, Corresponding Secretary; Pam Norman, Recording Secretary; Mary Emmons, Treasurer; and Mel Norman and Leo Barth, Directors. In addition to the high-point awards, Perry Gray

WORLD CHAMPION PONY DIES
SUN’ S GLORY BOY, the great World Champion Walking Pony of 1964, died of an apparent heart attack on April 19, 1969. He was being trained and used for service at the Harold Fulks Stables outside Florence at Greenhill, Alabama.
He was shown last year by the sons of Eugene Carbine of Florence. SUN’ S GLORY BOY won the championship in 1964 with Jimmy Ellis up. He was sired by MIDNIGHT SUN and was out of an OLD GLORY mare. He has a number of excellent colts in training this year.
