TRAINERS ASSOCIATION HOLDS SUCCESSFUL CLINIC AND HORSE SHOW AT ELLINGTON AGRICULTURE CENTER
The First Walking Horse National Champion was crowned at Ellington
Agricultural Center, Nashville, Tennessee, Friday, April 11, 1969. Winner of the big S3,000 Championship Stake was GO BOY’ S BLACK ANGEL, the 1968 World Champion Mare and a leading contender for the Grand Championship this year. She defeated a class of seven entries, including several genuine contenders for 1969, to win the roses of this first Walking Horse National. With trainer C. A. Bobo up for Mr. and Mrs. M. R. Corbin of Houston, Texas, " THE Mare’’ proved in convincing manner that she can go with the best.
The First Annual Walking Horse National Horse Show, sponsored by the Walking Horse Trainers Association, is now a part of the history of this great breed.
