27TH ANNUAL MILWAUKEE SPRING HORSE SHOW PREPARES FOR MAJOR WALKING HORSE ACTIVITY In a recent conversation with Mr. Sam Kagen, we learned that all indications are that they are making every effort to get top Walking Horse participation at the 27th Annual Milwaukee Spring Horse Show. The show, one of the largest and finest in this part of the country, will be held in their fine new State Fair Park Coliseum and will provide excellent facilities for horsemen and their stock. I THE MOST TALKED ABOUT | SHOW OF '68 IS COMING A back in MONTGOMERY JUDGES MIL WAUKEE — Mr. Jack Montgom ery. well-known Walking Horse personality from Shelbyville, Tennessee, will judge the classes for Tennessee Walking Horses at the 27th Annual Milwaukee Spring Horse Show. Milwaukee’s show will again be headed by the team responsible for the success of the past several years: Warren J. Maloney, co-chairman; Sam Q. Kagen, co- chairman and business manager; William N. Starck, superintendent; Mrs. William N. Starck, entry secre tary; Monte Ogens, treasurer; and John F. Marshall, charity co-ordinator. The Walking Horse division has been expanded be cause of the increased interest in the breed in Wiscon sin and the enthusiasm of exhibitors for this popular show. Classes to be included are amateur, open, jun ior, ladies 16 years of age and over, junior exhibitors 17 years of age and under, pleasure, and champion ship. Excellent prize money and attractive trophies are offered in each class. The management extends a cordial invitation to exhibitors from other areas. Stab ling will be ready on May 15 so exhibitors may ship their horses directly from Madison to Milwaukee. The show will again be a benefit for the coronary care center of St. Joseph’s Hospital. Entries close May 1, 1969. For further information, write Milwau kee Spring Horse Show, 211 W. Wisconsin Ave., Room 407, Milwaukee, Wis. 53203. SEARCY PROFESSIONAL * WALKING HORSE * APRIL 19, 1969 SEARCY, ARKANSAS SPONSORED BY SEARCY CIVITAN CLUB WHITE COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS JOE WEBB STABLES TO HOST WALKING HORSE ENTHUSIASTS AT SEARCY HORSE SHOW Joe Webb recently told us that, even though they would not be holding their usual sale at his stable this year before the Searcy Horse Show, he would welcome everyone to visit with him. He plans nothing in the way of a party but states that he will be work ing horses all day before the show. We hear from a very reliable source that Joe has some excellent two- year-olds for sale as well as some fine older stock. You never can tell . . . someone just might buy a future world champion right on the spot. Also the Searcy Horse Show is geared up for a "big one” this year. Mr. Carl Edwards of Dawson, Georgia will be the judge and should do a fine job. Nell Webb tells us that they have also arranged for some top flight entertainment with Ken Bowen and his fabulous trick horse on the schedule. We will also look forward to an exhibition by THE ENTERTAINER with Joe Webb up. For the past four years the Searcy Profes sional Walking Horse Show has kicked off the season as the first "big one” of the year and it draws big crowds of both horses and people. See you there April 19, 1969. March, 1969 JUDGE HON. CARL EDWARDS CUTHBERT, GEORGIA FOR COMPLETE INFORMATION CONTACT: MRS.
