SONNY SCRIVNER STABLES
From his Rogersville, Missouri stable, Sonny Scrivner has a host of good prospects for the 1969 season. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Nelson, Ozark, have recently purchased a very good black two-year-old filly for a top price. This fancy filly has a lot of lick and motion. MARY ANN’ S PRIZE will definitely be ready when the first gates open.
Besides this nice filly. Sonny has nine other top prospects for two-year-old classes. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Scott of Clarksville, Tennessee own DARK DOLL and MERRY ANGEL. DARK DOLL is a two-year-old black filly, and the many who have seen her say that she is really going to be something. By NIGHT TRAIN, she is a high-fronted, game, wild-going colt. MERRY AN GEL is by BLACK ANGEL’ S MACK K, and is also black, with natural walking and show ability.
The name BIG DEAL is getting to be quite common, for this bay colt has set everyone to talking. A three-year-old by BLACK ANGEL’ S MACK K, he has all the ability in the world and walks and canters like an aged horse. At Fort Worth this colt made a tremendous show, beating some top colts, and owners Danny Wiley and Gary Acker turned down a five-figure offer. This colt has a big, big front end that you just can’ t believe.
Bill Pickering, Jr., Rogersville, has a black stallion named WALKAWAY BLACK KNIGHT that is gifted with a big walking lick. Another horse owned by Bill here is PIDDLEY’ S PINUP, by KEETER’ S PINUP, a great amateur, ladies, or juvenile horse.
