THE MIDNIGHT SAINT is a three-year-old MID NIGHT SUN horse that belongs to Aaron Smith. A good-looking chestnut horse, he can really move. Another chestnut, four years old, that has been showing the big lick is SUNDUST STARLIGHT by ANOTHER SUN DUST. He is owned by M. F. Brown and is sure to win his share of ribbons as he can turn on in the big rings.
The young stock Harold is working also includes a bay colt for Clyde Williams of Cherokee that was
started late and is pacing on now.
Harold is working a two-year-old palomino stallion by SUNDUST PERFECTION that has a lot of promise. The dark gold color will make him easy to see in the ring and he should have a lot to show. A roan colt for Tom Watkins is walking now but is still small for showing. He also has a SUN’ S GLORY BOY colt that is a real pacer. This colt will probably be shown next year as he has just been started, but he should be a real good one, judging by his beginning.
TOP PLEASURE HORSE DIES
BLUE SETTING SUN. a nine-year-old pleasure gelding, died recently from an attack of cohc. The horse was owned by Dr. W. J. Thompson of Franklin, Tennessee and was shown by his son, Billy.
Billy has shown this horse for the past four years and had a very good year in 1968. He showed four
times and won three blues. A challenge trophy will be given in BLUE SETTING SUN’ S name at the Murfreesboro Show. It was the original intention to show him at this show.

SILO HILL STABLES
Would you believe... Shelbyville, Tennessee?
That’ s right— the Silo Hill Stables have moved from Newberry, South Carolina to the old Green-Hugh Stable in Shelbyville. Bill Sledge and his son, Bill, Jr., moved lock, stock and barrel several months ago and
have made quite a mark on the horse show results of Middle Tennessee shows. The stable is still owned by the popular Guy Whitener, Jr. of Newberry and all his show stock is there. " I’ m traveling more and enjoying it more,” Guy jokingly says.
Guy has good reason to be happy with the way things are going as he has a number of top horses
this year. He and Bill have worked long and hard coming up this calibre of horse and the results of their efforts are readily apparent this season.
One of the most talked-about ponies of all time is showing out of this stable. SETTING SUN DELIGHT a cocky black big-lick pony that can even go in nrcv fessional competition, is being groomed for the World Championship with Guy’ s daughter Stuart in the die. They have won two shows to date, GreenviU South Carolina and the Columbia Spring Jnhil 1G’
Guy’ s aged stallion, MERRY BOY’ S SECRET ^ « ■ to a great start this year with an impressive vict,
56 at the Shelbyville P-TA Show. This big powerful stallion appears to be getting better with age. Another of Guy’ s horses, BILLY HI FIVE, is truly an amazing gelding. This horse can be shown in amateur, juvenile or open competition and consistently come up with a top performance.
INVASION PERSUASION is being shown in open competition this year by Bill. This beautiful bay stallion has been hampered by injuries the past couple of years but appears to have overcome his problems.
Next month we will have a complete story on all the horses at Silo Hill Stables.
