SUN CREST STABLES Clarksville, Tennessee can boast of several fine Walking Horse operations and one of the most active is Sun Crest Stables. Owned and operated by Bob An derson and Charles Massey, Sun Crest is a relatively new stable with facilities for thirty head of horses. At present Charles, who is the trainer, has every stall full. They sure particularly pleased with several of their horses. DELIGHT’S MISSY is a fine two-year-old filly owned by John Lindhal of Ashland, Ky. She has won several blues this year and keeps getting better. C. C. Free man of Cadiz, Ky. owns a black SPIRIT two-year-old colt that is doing w-ell and R. E. Toms of Hopkinsville owns DELIGHT’S DUPLICATOR, a fine three-year- old chestnut stallion that is rated tops. SHADOW’S MAJOR MAN is a good sorrel stallion with a flax mane and tail that has won his share this year as a three-year-old. He belongs to Dr. Morgan of Henderson, Ky. Another three-year-old that is attract ing a lot of attention is SUN’S DEBONAIR, a black stallion owned by Mr. Whittaker. In aged classes, Charles Massey has several good mares and stallions to choose from. He is especially pleased with COTTON QUEEN’S MAY 4TH, a fine black mare owned by Dr. Bryan T. Iglehart of Clarks ville, and John Lindhal’s black stallion, JULIAN’S GO BOY. They have shown him sparingly this year as he has been bred quite a bit, but Charles is beginning to train hard for the remainder of the year. Also . . . SUN’S BLACK JET, a stallion owned by Sun Crest Stables, is available for action in open classes. MOON RAKER is a sorrel stallion owned by C. W. Whittaker of Owensboro, Ky. that also sees some action in open competition. They have several other good horses that are "com ing on” as two- and three-year-olds and should be ready for competition next year. McLAURIN STABLES Billy McLaurin, trainer at this Raleigh, North Caro lina stable, has both young stock and aged horses in fine form. Dr. W. J. Senter of Raleigh owns a good SUN’S DELIGHT two-year-old, DELIGHT’S LOBLOL LY, with lots of headshake and plenty of promise. Billy is working another two-year-old for Mrs. Suzanne Clement of Wake Forte that will soon make his ring debut. MAGIC ALLEN, a three-year-old stud owned by Mr. and Mrs. John Singleton of Cary, started his season off right by winning his division at the Raeford, NC show. He has improved since then, and Billy is rightly proud of him. The McLaurins own two three-year-old stallions that improve daily. EBONY SHADOW by EBONY MASTERPIECE and DELIGHT’S BLACK IMAGE by SUN’S DELIGHT not only have the blood lines, but also the action and drive it takes to get into the winner’s circle. The excellent pony, DAWN’S DELIGHT, is back this year with another competent rider, Steve Mc- Laurim The additional year has settled this four-year- old considerably, and he will be tough to beat any where. Steve McLaurin has also teamed GO BOY’S MYSTERY to a lot of wins in juvenile and amateur classes this year. MYSTERY is owned by Ed Cope land of Wash
