TEXAS ASSOCIATION ELECTS OFFICERS AND PRESENTS AWARDS AT SUCCESSFUL YEAR-END MEETING IN MARSHALL The Texas Walking Horse Breeders Association held its final meeting of 1968 at the Hotel Marshall in Mar­ shall, Texas on December 7. The meeting featured the election of officers for 1969 and the presentation of High Point awards for 1968. Elected to lead the Association in 1969 were: Cam­ eron McElroy, president; Jimmy Hooten, vice presi­ dent; Mrs. Lawrence L. Bush, Jr., secretary; and, as Directors to the Board, Charles Knorr, r. J. Byron Landress and George Moore. The High Point Awards for 1968 were presented to: Two-Year-Old - SUN’S EBONY EMMA, Roy Robert- Davis; Juvenile 14 and Under Division - Mary McEl­ roy; Juvenile, 14-18 Division - Gene Hayle; Pleasure Division - FOOTLOOSE DOLL and Gene Hayle; Equi­ tation - Kim Sears. Cypress Acres Stables was host for a happy hour and a buffet dinner at the meeting and a very enjoy­ able time was had by all. Five of the twelve high point awards went to Cypress Acres Stables. Sam has done a fine job at Cypress Acres since June, when he began training there. The awards pre­ sented to the stable at this meeting certainly are strong testimony to the solid approach they have to the horse business.
