Signal Mountain, Tennessee, and brought top consid eration at the fall Murray Farm Sale. He was bought before the sale. His new owner ran him through and "no-saled” at a handsome profit and finally sold him for a double profit. Herbert Roberts of Irving, Kentuc- ly is his present owner and everyone who has seen him says he could be "the thing” this year. More later BATTLEGROUND STABLES Jim Babb is very busy working horses these days. He has some very capable help with Randy Bowen and Cliff Stansell, two young fellows who really seem to enjoy their work. At present, Jim is getting stock ready for the Tampa, Florida show. Everyone always seems to be looking for a good mare, but Jim has two of them in his Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia stable. PERFECTION’S MODEL, the mare that Diana Babb showed last year in four-year-old classes, is better than ever. A new mare, STATELY’S LACE, owned by Kathy and Doug Hutchison of Tren ton, Georgia, is a black, high-headed, four-year-old top show mare. So... if you’re looking for one, here’s the place. Jim is working 23 head of stock, including two beautiful grey fillies by STERLING SILVER. SILVER DUTCHESS is owned by Dr. Charles Ray Swift of Chattanooga and her half-sister is owned by Babb & Womble. Both are headed for two-year-old classes this year. Dr. Swift also owns SPANISH KNIGHT, a full brother to MAGIC KNIGHT. This aged gelding was doing great but, due to a stall injury, will prob ably not enter compeition until late summer. Anyone who saw the Montgomery show last fall will remember that SHOTGUN, owned by Babb and Led ford, made quite an impression in the four-year-old class. He is still improving as an aged gelding and Jim plans to bring him out better than ever in stake classes this spring. In the Juvenile classes, Pam Clippinger and Do ug Hutchison will be showing MY SECRET SUN and PEG’S CINDERELLA. Pam is now a veteran rider and, with last year’s record on MY SECRET SUN, she and the grey horse should come on strong this year. Doug showed last year for the first time, and has been improving steadily during the winter months. In the Amateur Classes, Dr. Truman Whitfield of Dalton, Georgia will be showing TROUBLE IN THE HILLS again this year.
