BOOGER and out of an OLD WILSON’S ACE mare, he is a top junior contender. In the junior mare classes David will be showing a mare by SKIP’S GO BOY out of a MERRY MAKER mare. She leaves little to be desired in looks or style and should be top competition. These are just a few of the horses David is working. Throughout the barn the horses are shaping up for a great season. And, looking across the pastures, it is noted that the colts yet to be presented for competi­ tion will be equally as good. DELTA VALLEY STABLES OFFICIAL BARN OPENING by Sharon Terry Love Cleveland. Mississippi was the setting for the official opening of Delta Valley Stables on Saturday night, March 15, 1969. Acting as hosts and hostesses to welcome the 125 guests were Mr. and Mrs. Buren Roberts, Prentiss, Mississippi, and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Roberts, Cleveland, Mississippi, the proud owners of Delta Valley Stables. The tackroom was decorated for the occasion and an assortment of refreshments was served. Entertainment consisted of working some of the horses in the barn. Alvin started the night off with SILVER LINING, his outstanding two-year-old geld­ ing. SILVER LINING was really feeling good and caught everyone’s eye as he strolled along with all the motion a two-year-old can have. Next, Reid Estess worked EBONY’S MR. HALL, a black four-year-old owned by Alvin. Ernest Rempson followed suit with an aged bay stallion owned by Floyd Blundell of Greenville. As the night progressed, Sharon Terry Love dis- plaved two of the horses she has been working, both lii gs STORM WARNING and SUN DUST’S SHC MAGIC’S BLACK PEPPER, the black amateur stallion owned by Eston Bennett of Leland, Iked on in fine style. Mr. Bennett’s son Jim rode - new juvenile horse, SHADOW’S SKY PILOT, in public for the first time. >od brought two three-year-olds with OPY’S STAR and a black stallion .ed good under the lights.
