BOOGER and out of an OLD WILSON’S ACE mare,
he is a top junior contender.
In the junior mare classes David will be showing a
mare by SKIP’S GO BOY out of a MERRY MAKER
mare. She leaves little to be desired in looks or style
and should be top competition.
These are just a few of the horses David is working.
Throughout the barn the horses are shaping up for a
great season. And, looking across the pastures, it is
noted that the colts yet to be presented for competi
tion will be equally as good.
DELTA VALLEY STABLES
OFFICIAL BARN OPENING
by Sharon Terry Love
Cleveland. Mississippi was the setting for the official
opening of Delta Valley Stables on Saturday night,
March 15, 1969. Acting as hosts and hostesses to
welcome the 125 guests were Mr. and Mrs. Buren
Roberts, Prentiss, Mississippi, and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin
Roberts, Cleveland, Mississippi, the proud owners of
Delta Valley Stables.
The tackroom was decorated for the occasion and
an assortment of refreshments was served.
Entertainment consisted of working some of the
horses in the barn. Alvin started the night off with
SILVER LINING, his outstanding two-year-old geld
ing. SILVER LINING was really feeling good and
caught everyone’s eye as he strolled along with all
the motion a two-year-old can have. Next, Reid Estess
worked EBONY’S MR. HALL, a black four-year-old
owned by Alvin. Ernest Rempson followed suit with
an aged bay stallion owned by Floyd Blundell of
Greenville.
