1/ OWNER-AMATEUR RIDERS ON WALKING
HORSES, CHAMPIONSHIP STAKE
Burt Daugetie and MOON GLOW JR. completed
a comeback effort that proved beyond a shadow
of a doubt the ability of this great champion
ship team. Burt and her horse won the title
two years ago but failed in their effort last
vear. This victory capped off a spirited effort
to win again and Burt and her horse are cer-
tainlv deserving and representative of this breed.
HURRY SUNDOWN and Patti Reams were re
serve, with LADY GODIVA and Mrs. Frank
Parnell winding up the top three winners. The
ladies dominated the top ribbons in this class.

GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP WALKING HORSE STAKE
It was everything it was supposed to be and
more as four horses were put on the rail for
the final gruelling workout. When the final
decision was made a deserving and proven GO
BOY’S ROYAL HEIR and Donald Paschal were
the champions, with THE ENTERTAINER and
Joe Webb reserve. Wink Groover, trying the
impossible and almost doing it, tied third on
ACE’S SENSATION with GO BOY’S BLACK
ANGEL and Charlie Bobo fourth. Bobo and his
mare proved a lot of people wrong by battling
the top three all the way and never giving an
inch. THE ENTERTAINER and ROYAL HEIR
both put out a great effort and the eight-year-
old black stud and amateur champion of 1968
was a deserving winner.
