PLEASURE WALKING HORSES PROVE THEIR WORTH ON TRAIL RIDE IN THE GLACIER NATIONAL PARK The Tennessee Walking Horse As sociation of Montana held its Sixth Annual Trail Ride in the Glacier National Park. The group camped at Cut Bank Creek Campground which lies between East Glacier and Lake Mary. Camp trailers were part of the equipment taken along for the ride, and the group quickly discovered this is the best way to “rough it.” Dr. Virgil Ferree of Kalispell, Pres ident of the Club, led the ride. He is familiar with the trails in the Park as he has done quite a bit of riding there. The group went up Triple Peak Divide, which is marked by a huge triangle-shaped mountain. The trail winds for several miles through the pine-covered hillsides, and over rid ges and large rocks. The Walking Horses again proved .their outstanding versatility on this trip, as the rugged terrain was no problem for them. The ease and comfort of the ride underscores the popularity of the Walking Horse for pleasure activities of this type. Next year the groups plans to take another ride in the Park and you can be assured that they will again call on their pleasure Walking Horses.
