Walking ‘Free and Easy’ by Mrs. Jimmie Gray Bob Reid & Son Stable, located on Highway 31 near Lewisburg, is a beehive of activity these days. They have a number of outstanding trainees getting ready for this season. The fine black three-year-old HANDSHAKER mare, owned by Jim Beasley and shown last year to several blue ribbons by Bob, is in top form for hot competi tion. Mr. Jim also has two very promising two-year- olds in training here. Jerry Bradford owns a three-year-old MIDNIGHT SUN stallion. This one, winner of many ribbons as a two-year-old, shows much improvement. Mr. Bradford also has a good three-year-old bay mare that should attract some attention in the show ring. Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Gracey of Fayetteville have four in training here, all of them good stock. Showing great promise is an eyecatching two-year-old filly by MID NIGHT SUN. Making steady progress toward her debut in the showring is another by MIDNIGHT SUN, a sorrel three-year-old mare. For junior mare compe tition they have a black one by PIDDLEY out of a MIDNIGHT SUN mare. She is a full sister to SUN DUST and is exciting. The Graceys’ pride and joy is their DELIGHTS ANN, a great three-year-old mare by SUN’S DELIGHT that was campaigned so success fully last season by Bob Reid. Bud Byrom and son Joe have opened a stable at their farm in the Await community of Franklin County. The Byroms are horsemen of the stickability kind, knowledge and love for the breed being handed down from generation to generation. Joe already has sev eral that he is breaking and training. Two that he is real high on are a HANDSHAKER stud colt owned by Clifford Mosely and a GO BOY’S SHADOW filly owned by C. O. Jones. Horses are strictly a family affair with the Dick Warners of Tullahoma. The two brood mares are owned by the men. One, by MIDNIGHT SUN, has an enviable show record. MIDNIGHT NANCY PAGE also has a beautiful filly colt, black with an off-center star, by EBONY MASTERPIECE, and has been bred back to MERRY GO BOY. Dick Warner claims her. The other mare, MR. GLORY’S ANGEL, belongs to son Jack. ANGEL also has a filly colt by MASTER PIECE, this one a chestnut. HORSE INSURANCE THE NATION'S FASTEST GROWING LIVESTOCK INSURANCE AGENCY.
