Walking Horse participation got underway on Tuesday evening with the Junior Mare Class. This mare is a beautiful chestnut that has been shown consistently this year to win some top classes. The Ladies Class saw Jan Wright, who had come up for the show between final exams in Nacogdoches, Texas, take the blue on SECURITY, a top stallion with a lot of action and ability. She was riding for the Lone Star Stables. The Aged Mare Class was also held on Tuesday night and it was Joe
Webb from Searcy, Arkansas who took the top spot on the popular SHADOW’ S DARK LADY for Mrs.
Mary Laidlaw of Memphis, Tennessee. On Wednesday evening things began to move along as the Junior Stud and Gelding Class got underway.
