WEST COAST ‘WALKS ON’ By Connie Keefer 2749 S. Native Ave. Rowland Heights, Calif. The last month of this 1967 season has drawn to a close, with the Pacific Coast Walking Horse Associa tion and the Tennessee Walking Horse Exhibitors’ Association meetings being the fmal activities of the year. The P.C.W.H.A. meeting was held at the Holiday Inn located in Covina. The room was filled to capacity with 100 anxious members and guests anticipating the High Point Trophies, election of officers, and an even better 1968 season. The outgoing officers were extended a hearty round of applause. The new slate of officers is as follows: President - Florence Bishop; Vice President - Charles Muriello; Secretary - Connie Keefer; Treasurer - Nancy Emerson; Board of Direc tors - Dr. C. J. The election of officers was next and the 1968 slate looks like this: President - Dr. Carl Bishop; Vice Pres ident - W. Mussman; Second Vice President - Don Platt; Secretary - Marge Sunderland; Treasurer - Vir ginia Booth; Board of Directors - Dr. Ford, Bill Todd, Paul Hughes, Tom Ellis, M. Edmonds, Florence Bishop, John Evans and Jean McBurney. President Dr. Carl Bishop took over and conducted a lengthy meeting in order to start the new business rolling for the new year. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the winners from both organizations and would like to commend those who have worked so hard the past year to help promote this great breed, the Tennessee Walking Horse. Looking forward to 1968, which promises to be a bigger season than the past, we find a local show in Whittier on the 27th of January, and move right on in February, 16 to 25, to the National Date Festival and Horse Show in Indio. Scheduled March 6 through 10 is the A to Z National Horse Show in Phoenix. Before we hit this BIG season I would like to remind everyone: "If They’re Not Nodding, They’re Not Walk ing.” I would also like to wish 'you-all’ the Best of Luck for this next year as the West Coast 'Walks On’!
