Mrs. Baum wrote: "Just when he was getting along so beautifully, and we thought we’d have him home in a couple of weeks. The results of the autopsy are not complete, so we don’t know why - but I guess the veterinarians axe as shocked and frustrated as we. It’s been such a long siege (over four months) and just when everything seems finally OK, this hap pens! The whole family is pretty sad.” Our sympathy goes to Mr. and Mrs. Leo Baum on the loss of their fine horse. R&R STABLES The big news out of the R & R Stables is the recent sale of RODGERS ACE by Howard Roberts to Adam and Maxine Thomann of Salem, Missouri. This fine stud recently made his first appearance in the show ring at Shenandoah, tying reserve in the Open Class for his proud new owners. The horse will stay at R&R under the capable hands of Howard Roberts. Howard also won the Junior Class at this show on HANDSHAKER’S JOY, a real good mare. The fourth spot in this class went to MAGIC’S BETTY WHITE and owner Ronnie Blackwell. This was Ronnie’s initial ride in the show ring and he did an excellent job. The new National Half-Walker Association has se lected Howard Roberts to be its state representative for Missouri. Howard will no doubt be a big asset to this fine organization. He was en route from Tennes see to Ohio with two fillies in a van when the acci dent took place. As of December 20, Mr. Geeslin was in Christ Hos pital in Cincinnati with a broken back, and the doc tors were unable to determine if he would be para lyzed as a result of the break. We have had no fur ther information on his condition, but know that he would appreciate hearing from his friends in the Walk ing Horse business. Friends in Ohio are helping with the store, the horses and the farm. Mr. Geeslin’s home address is Maple Leaf Farms Route 1, Box 236A, Georgetown, Ohio 45121.
