1968-Voice Of The Tennessee Walking Horse 1968 February Voice RS | Page 26

( Continued from page I 8)
The second meeting of the Walking Horse Trainers Association, Inc. is scheduled to meet at the Holiday Inn in Shelbyville, Tennessee on March 15-16. It is our understanding that they will be meeting with representatives of the American Horse Show Association, the Celebration, Inc. and the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ Association. This is a meeting that all professional trainers should definitely attend. It is most important to each of you that you join this organization and support the programs of your association. Remember... the Walking Horse business is what
YOU make it! A note on the Breeders’ Association. Many of you
are still referring to this organization by the wrong name. It is officially chartered as the " Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ Association of America” and the reference to " Exhibitors” was dropped two or three years ago, since it was never chartered to include this in the title. It is our understanding that the involvement of the Breeders’ Association in horse show activities( rules and judges) was primarily as a service to exponents of the breed, since the Association does not officially sanction any shows. To our knowledge they have no authority over any Show or judges, nor do they want any. Their rule book and list of qualified judges is only a service to Walking Horse lovers who have no contact with the American Horse Shows Association. We hope they will continue this service, as it is much appreciated.
