GEORGIA WALKING HORSE EXHIBITORS’ ASSOCIATION MEETS IN ATLANTA The Georgia Walking Horse Exhibitors’ Association literally met in the "Heart of Atlanta” recently as they held their annual pre-show gathering. New offi cers for the association were announced at the ban quet meeting and issues regarding the show schedule, rules, judges and high-points were discussed at length! Dr. Bill Landrum from the University of Georgia made several fine points regarding promotion of the breed. He indicated that a major move had been made by university groups recently to sponsor horse activity in the 4-H Clubs. He noted that all breeds had sent him excellent information material regarding their breed with the exception of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ Associat ion. It was pointed out that our association is currently working on a 4-H Club program and that material should be ready shortly. Mr. C. Bruce Spencer and Mr. David Howard of the VOICE were present to discuss promotion with the Georgia Association and to show the 1967 Celebration films. It was a fine meeting with almost a hundred people from across the state in attendance. New officers for 1968 are: Malcolm Cade, President; Buck Watson, First Vice President; Paul Wiener, Sec ond Vice President; Martha Cade, Secretary-Treasur er. Directors are: Roy Davis, Walter McLendon, Van Kirkland, Bill Landrum and J. R. Dekle. This is a fine organization that has a long background in the Walking Horse field. We wish them much success in the future under the direction of Mr. Cade.
