PAUL SMITH STABLES
Along with his brand new stable in Alachua, Florida,
Paul Smith has some new customers that he introduc
ed on the Florida Show Circuit this season. Dr. and
Mrs. Droege of Sarasota and their son Mike recently
purchased BORN FREE, a four-year-old. Along with
ALLEN’S PRIDER that Mike showed, these people
are in the full swing of the show business now. Mr.
and Mrs. Grady Thornton of Palmetto, Florida were
pleased to see Cindy show SUN DUST LITTLE MAN
and Roy show SUN TAN on this circuit. Cecil Tanner
of Way cross, Georgia, another new customer, takes
pride in his two-year-old. BLACK ACE. Paul tied
second and third with this black two-year-old on the
Florida Circuit.
A completely new customer, W. E. "Rip” Van Wink
le, a former cattleman from Gainesville, Florida, is a
newcomer on the Walking Horse scene. One of his
horses that Paul is training is SUN’S SPECTALATOR.
Considering the fact that Paul was busy building his
bam during the winter and had only a short time to
get this new stock ready to show, he carried home a
good supply of ribbons from Winter Haven and Tam
pa. Since he judged in Gainesville, he was limited to
showing on only the two shows and, if our tabulations
are right, he won around 15 ribbons.
Along with this new customers, he has a good three-
year-old for Dr. and Mrs. Harrel of Palmetto, Florida,
HOLY SMOKE and some stock for Spencer Walker
and Sheriff Cauley of Fitzgerald, Georgia.
The VOICE would like to extend a welcome to
these new people in the Walking Horse business and
wish Paul luck with his new stable in Florida. The
interest is tremendous in that state, and Mr. Smith
has been working hard to create more for Walking
Horses.
