Charlie Williamson brought in one of his many nice-looking young colts and walked away with the blue ribbon. Charlie is from Brentwood, Tennessee, and his colt’ s name is SWEET ppm IT The red ribbon indicating reserve honors was captured by MAID OF MASTERPIECE for owners Hackett and Hale of Carthage and Gallatin, Tennessee. The third place ribbon went to MIDNIGHT’ S MAE B, owned by J. F.
Brantley and Son. The opening night crowd of close to 4,000 was very receptive to this class and voiced appreciation of its favorites. Crowd reaction is usually mild in halter classes but the crowd on this opening night felt no such restraint.

YEARLING HORSE COLTS OF 1966 FOAL This class was well-stocked with good-looking prospective show horses and really drew the interest of the crowd. Winning the honors was GO BOY’ S LADY’ S MAN owned by Beech and Leslie of Lewisburg, Tennessee and Troy, Missouri. The second award went to SHADOW’ S APACHE owned by Stan McNabb of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Stan brought many goodlooking colts to the show and APACHE was one of the best. The yellow ribbon went to EBONAIRE KING for owners Mr. and Mrs. Billy Hale of Gallatin, Tennessee. Mr. Hale owns a number of promising colts in addition to some of the best show horses around. He has captured many honors in the show ring and shows no signs of letting up.

SHADOW MIDNIGHT GHOST had tied second in the Weanling Horse Colt class earlier in the evening. Reserve award and the red ribbon went to MIDNIGHT WON DER GIRL and GO BOY’ S MAGIC MOMENT, owned by Self, Woods and Ensley of Mobile, Alabama and Belfast, Tennessee. MAGIC MO MENT captured the blue ribbon in the Weanling Horse Colt class earlier. Third place tie went to STAR’ S ROCKET MAID and TOMCAT owned by Paul Nelms of Lewisburg, Tennessee.
