1967-Voice Of The Tennessee Walking Horse 1967 September Voice RS | Page 36

TWO-YEAR-OLD WALKING STALLIONS TIGER BAY and Bob Cherry showed their 46 rivals plenty of motion, speed and heart in capturing the blue ribbon to the delight of the cheering crowd. The crowd picked up this colorful entry in the early going and never lost sight of them. Bob captured two first place votes and one second place tie on the cards of the three judges. Reserve award went to another great young horse, SPECIAL DE LIVERY. ridden by Buddy Hugh. Buddy captured a vote for first, second and third, and should provide plenty of competition in the championship class. Elmore Brock and JOHN NY JR. tied third with two strong gaits. None of the horses in this class were disqualified because of scarred feet and twenty horses were chosen for the final workout.

TWO-YEAR-OLD WALKING STALLIONS DOUBLE DELIGHT O proved to be too much horse has he captured the blue ribbon with Elmore Brock up. This horse has been a popular winner all year and he showed the crowd that he could really get up and go. Elmore tied first on all three cards in a very impressive win. The reserve award went to TUFF STUFF and Charlie Bobo. Charlie and his horse showed plenty of ability to the crowd of over 10,000 paid admissions. THE MEDICINE MAN and Benvis Beachboard strolled to the yellow ribbon with two strong gaits. Two horses were disqualified from this class because of the new scar rule.

JUVENILES RIDING WALKING MARES OR GELDINGS
Debbie Church and FAIR WARNING B. won the blue over 32 other entries in a real good Juvenile class. Debbie is getting along exceptionally well with this great horse and they will be a difficult team to stop. Lee Vanette Kirkland and PERFECT PRECISION exhibited plenty of confidence and ability to nail down the second place ribbon. This horse can really come up when they call for the running walk and Lee Vanette knows how to ride as well as any juvenile. Tying third and looking better all the time was MERRY MOTION MAKER with Bobby Ratton up. These young riders showed plenty of ring savvy in exhibiting their horses. The final workout had 18 horses.
