TATTERSALLS ANNOUNCES DATF < 5 FOR SECOND WALKING HORSE SALE
At the request of the Tennessee Walking Horse owners , breeders and trainers , Tattersalls located in Lexington , Kentucky , conducted its first Tennes see Walking Horse Sale this past spring^ Eve “ one
was pleased with the results and many major stables consigned horses to the sale . More than a thousand people were in attendance , and the bidding was brisk . Horses sold for the top dollar , ranging from $ 3,000 down , with many in the $ 1,000 to $ 2,500 range This successful venture prompted general manager Walter Gibbons and sales manager Carl Garner to make the Tennessee Walking Horse Sale a part of their regular schedule of sales , and they have announced the dates for the fall sale as November 20- 21 , with entries closing October 20 . Tattersalls is centrally located in Kentucky , making it within easy traveling distance for the horsemen from the South , North , East and Midwest . This is an important factor for buyers and sellers alike . They also have the best facilities in the country , since everything was designed for selling horses . Their entire staff , from office girls to auctioneers , were handpicked and they are professionals at their jobs . They have had years of experience in the horse sale business , and take pride in their work .
" THE MIDNIGHT HEIR " DIES OF INFECTION
In a recent news release we learned of the unfortunate death of THE MIDNIGHT HEIR , a fine Junior horse shown by Steve Hill this year . About two weeks after the Celebration , the horse became ill with a blood infection and , despite the efforts of the finest veterinarian available , the big black stallion passed away .
Owned by Mr . Dwain Clark of Beverly Hills , California , THE MIDNIGHT HEIR was a highly regarded horse with great potential . He was the highest-priced three-year-old ever sold , and many knowledgeable enthusiasts felt that he was one of the finest Walking Horses ever to enter the show ring .
