he displayed. An added attraction was the carriage drawn by a Tennessee Walking Horse, courtesy of Mr. Arthur Kiefer, that brought in guest of honor Eddi Duckworth, " Miss Sacramento." Glenn Miller rode the pretty white mare, APRIL PRINCESS, and carried in the colors Tennessee style. The exhibitors’ party, headed by Mr. Merle Brown, was also a big success with a delicious buffet dinner and Champagne Punch. While attending this show I observed the pride that people take in their horses, and it was obvious that they are working hard and anticipating the growth of the Tennessee Walking Horse in the West. An important factor in this show was that everyone appeared to be having a good time. I enjoyed seeing, for the first time, the Western Classes, which were filled, further indicating the versatility of this breed.
I was very pleased to meet so many of the Northern California Walking Horse enthusiasts, and their Southern hospitality extended to me made me feel most welcome, which added to my enjoyment of this interesting show.
While the show season is starting to draw to a close for this year, there is still plenty of activity back at the barns, as they are already preparing for a BIG 1968 season, while the West Coast ' Walks On.’

AID TO ZOO HORSE SHOW AIMING AT BIG SPRING EVENT
*
Chairmen of the AID TO ZOO NATIONAL HORSE SHOW to be held in Phoenix, Arizona, March 6-10, 1968 are already hard at work on plans. This will be the fifth annual show, which is held in the magnificent indoor coliseum in Phoenix. General Chairman Mrs. Kemper Marley and former chairman Mrs. Jack Harris met with Horse Show Manager Frank Jordano in Santa Barbara, and decided to go all out for an A
point show next year. Previously rated A in the Hunter, Jumper, Arabian, Western and Pony divisions, the show will now be rated A by the AHSA in the Five- and Three-Gaited, Fine Harness and Tennessee Walker divisions as well. There will be $ 1,500 Stakes in the Jumper, Five- and Three-Gaited divisions, and $ 1,000 Stakes in other divisions.
The March dates make this show an ideal time and place for East and West to meet in the show ring, and it is also one of the few shows officially classified as a star show by the American Horse Show Association. Premium lists will be available December 1st, and information may be obtained by writing Aid to Zoo National Horse Show, 4544 N. Paradise Lane, Scottsdale, Arizona.
