back out on a deal and it looks as if Lonny made a deal.
At supper that evening, Lonny was trying to tell Helen how come it was that they had sold TIGER BAY foi fifty thousand dollars and that he didn’ t get any money from anybody except Mr. Larson.“ Well,” he said, the other three partners only owned one half of him and weie entitled to split twenty five thousand. Their opinion was that since they had said they wouldn’ t take less than fifty
for him, that I should have asked for enough money to guarantee them their money and make a little profit for myself.”“ What about the commission for the other trainer?,” Helen asked.“ Nothing was said about that at all, but I think he deserves some money from somebody.
At this point the phone rang. Lonny answered and was noticably shaken by the conversation.“ Wait a minute,” Helen heard him say.“ You mean someone bought and paid for a new Cadillac and said to deliver it to me! Who was it?” Helen got up out of her chair when she heard this part of the conversation.’’ What in the world?” she said. Lonny just smiled and said, as he scratched his head,“ That Mr. Barrimore from Houston just bought us a new car.”
