Horace Young Stables
One of the better known stables around. Middle Tennessee is the Horace Young Stable in Lewisburg. Going into the Celebration this year, Horace will have GO BOY’ S DARK LADY, last year’ s three-year-old mare World Champion. Owned by Tony Huber of Moultrie, Georgia, she is undefeated this year in four-year-old and aged mare classes, such as Lebanon, Lewisburg, Eaglesville and Knoxville. A top contender again this year. Another winner for Tony Huber that has been undefeated in amateur and stud classes this year is his grey gelding, GO BOY’ S CRYSTAL BALL, a gelding with three distinct gaits and a lot of head motion. Horace won the
Knoxville stake with this horse.
Dr. Helen Jones of Fayetteville has been showing LIL’ S MAJOR some this year. She and Dr. Bill Jones also have a HANDSHAKER three-year-old mare that is a tremendous prospect, and a pony that their children will probably be showing next year. The BROWN BOMBER, a two-year-old bay stud, has been doing well in the twoyear-old classes this year. This one is owned by Sheriff
Cawley of Fitzgerald, Georgia.
GO BOY’ S JUBILEE, a grey gelding shown by Karene Witcher of Monroe, Georgia, and MOONSHOT, owned bv Wanda Stewart of Fayetteville have both been tying well this summer in the juvenile classes. Another one that Horace has just had for a short time is SETTING SUN’ S LITTLE ANGEL, ridden by Beth Rambo and owned by Mr. and Mrs. Bud Rambo of Fayetteville. She shows in pony classes. Watch for the Horace Young Stables at the Celebration and go by to see Maribelle and Horace, you’ ll be most welcome.
Elmore Brock Stables
Headed for the Celebration this year from the Elmore Brock Stables will be the usual top string of horses. A top two-year-old that all the horsemen have been talking about is a SUN’ S DELIGHT stallion, named DOUBLE DELIGHT. This one has been winning blues consistently and is owned by Lowe, Lowe and Ellis from Cookeville, Tennessee and Greensboro, North Carolina. In some of the other classes Elmore will have DEEP VELVET, now an aged mare owned by Mr. and Mrs. Willard Chandler, Portland, Tennessee. This mare needs no introduction to the show world, she’ s one of the good ones. In the aged stud class Elmore will be showing MR. GLO, another horse that needs no introduction. Elmore has won manv, many good shows with both of these horses. In the Walking Pony division Susan Hunter of Sparta, Tennessee will be showing ZIP CODE. Another well-known is SENOR PERFECTION owned by Gribble, Gribble, Lowe and Lowe. This stud will be in the three-year-old class this year. As you can see by the list of the above names. Mr. Brock will take a deep scat when he enters the big ring on some top stock. Good luck, Elmore. 6
