Doug Wolaver won his second blue ribbon
of the night in this class aboard Shaker’s
Miss Merry Allen. This mare did some top
walking in taking the class honors and is
surely a contender for future shows. Jimmy
Waddell and Shadow's Blue Angel were the
second place ribbon winners with a sparkling
display in Walking Horse gaits. Sun Dust
Romeo, with Bud Dunn in the saddle came
on strong to take the third spot. This was a
hotly contested and much discussed class
because many top trainers and horses com
peted.

TWO-YEAR-OLD WALKING STALLIONS
Norman’s Go Yonder took Bill Crutcher to
the fore in this class of young stallions and
stayed there to capture the blue ribbon. This
young horse shows a great deal of promise
as he displayed two strong gaits and excellent
conformation. Bud Dunn aboard Sinking Sun
also performed well and came in second.
Jimmy Waddell and Ebony's Merry Man tied
third with a strong show from start to finish.
These two-year-olds paint a bright picture of
the future for the Walking Horse industry.

FOUR-YEAR-OLD AND OVER
WALKING GELDINGS (OPEN)
Wink Groover aboard Sensational Sundust
proved to be just that, sensational, as he
swept the first place prize in this rugged
class of top horses. Wink had his horse sitting
just right and never let up to take the
honors. Jack Warren and Golden Souvenir
were close behind Wink all the way and the
class was nip and tuck throughout. George
Witt and his horse Spurs Mr. Blew were much
in evidence all through the class and kept
the leaders really working for their ties.
