Tragedy struck on the highway last month as Dr. T. J. RANEY, well-known Walking Horse enthusi ast from Little Rock, Arkansas, and several members of his family and friends were driving to a horse show. Killed in the highway accident were Dr. Raney, his seventeen-year-old son GLEN, Mrs. RANEY, and young CANDY FREEMAN, daughterofMr. J. FREEMAN of Little Rock. The accident occurred on a rain- and wind-swept highway as they were making their way to a weekend horse show. Dr. Raney is perhaps best known for his activities with the JOE WEBB Stables of Searcy, Ar kansas. He and Dr. PORTER ROD GERS, HOWARD BINNS, his bro ther PETE RANEY and JOE WEBB jointly owned Perfection’s Carbon Copy when he won the 1964 World’s Grand Championship. Dr. Raney was also part owner of The Entertainer, the outstandingtwo-year-old stallion that tied Reserve in the Celebration Stake this year and was winner of Class B Two-Year-Old Stallions. Dr. Raney and his family were well-liked by their many friends in the Walking Horse business, and we are indeed sorry that this untimely accident occurred. They will surely be missed by Walking Horse lovers. W. M. WHITE STABLES • Brood Mares & Colts • Mares in Foal to MIDNIGHT SUN and SUN'S DELIGHT . PLEASURE HORSES .
