WEANLING HORSE COLTS, OF 1965 FOAL
Ebony’ s Esquire, owned by Willis Brown, was the judges ' choice in this class full of promising colts. Second place honors went to Brantley’ s Midnight Sun, owned by J. F. Brantley and Son. These two colts both showed the benefits of countless hours of patient work by their handlers, as did the other entries. Cashion Farms was in evidence in this class as The Black Knight tied third for this new breeding establishment, which is quickly making a name for itself.

OWNER-AMATEUR LADY RIDERS ON WALKING GELDINGS, ANY AGE
Hill’ s Perfection, former World ' s Champion Gelding, took the blue in this 28-horse field for talented rider Shirley Sharpe. Perfection was just that as he tied first on all three judges ' cards and swept the honors over the numerous other top horses. Tying second was Magic Knight with Marjorie Gill in the saddle. This big gelding put on quite a show and kept the pressure on the blue ribbon winner. Mary Barnwell and Mr. Personality were right at the head of the class and tied third. By sweeping the top spot on all three judges’ cards, Shirley and Hill ' s Perfection labeled themselves the favorites in the Lady Riders stake.

OWNER-AMATEUR ON WALKING HORSES, ANY AGE OR SEX
Widespread judging was the feature of this class, as many good horses were entered and performed up to par. Dr. W. R Trapp riding Gold Sons Golden Girl captured the blue, ribbon with a fine exhibition before a loudly-approving crowd Tombstone with W. T Baynard in the saddle was in good form as he tied runner-up in this 26-entry class. Dark Mystery Maker with C. E. Clement up was no mystery as the big horse showed well and tied third. This class wound up the activity for Sunday night and certainly left all the fans anxiously awaiting the rest of the thrilling classes.
