some emphasis to our part of the country. You know there are a lot of people out here who want to get into this thing if we can just get things moving and bring them some good horses to buy. Thanks for talk ing with me.” These are just a few of the people that we talked with at Kansas City during the sale. The general con sensus seemed to be that there was a real need for more concentrated effort on the Mid-West and that it could become a really good market if everyone would follow through on this sale. In talking with Mr. S. W. Beech after the sale we learned that everyone involved figured that it had been a success. Mr. Beech felt that a good deal of interest was created and that eventually a top- notch sale could be developed. He definitely felt that it was something that was needed and would be good for the business. Red Bridge Stables’ Grand Opening As an added attraction to the MID-WEST SALE, the Red Bridge Stables had its official welcome mat out for all visitors to the farm A fine barbecue was furnished at lunch time to all in attendance at the sale and everyone was invited to go through the stable and see their show horses and brood mares. High point of a visit to Red Bridge Stables is, as would be expected, a stopover at the king-sized stall of Midnight Secret, their top breeding stallion. Secret has it about as good as any horse living and is content with his job. His fringe benefits include his own private television set, which stays on almost all day. His favorite program? Almost everyone asked this question and you guessed it — not MR. ED, but HULLABALOO! To the entire staff of the First Annual MID-WEST Walking Horse Sale we pay tribute for a job well done. We believe this is a start on increased interest and greater busi ness for the breed by opening up new markets for everyone in the business. See you next year! DID YOU KNOW THAT THE "VOICE" HAS MORE WALKING HORSE READERSHIP THAN ANY OTHER NATIONAL HORSE MAGAZINE?
