He is married and has two children. (5) JOHN T. CARTER - A pro­ fessional trainer of excellent rep­ utation, John T. is currently working as full-time trainer of the Robinwood Farm Stables in Kingsport, Tennessee. He has started and made many top hor­ ses and is considered a threat every time he enters the show ring. A competent judge, John T. states that he likes "walking horses” in the true sense of the word. He lives with his family in Kingsport and is looking for­ ward to the 1965 season with some excellent stock. (6) WINK GROOVER - Consid­ ered a strong competitor by all who know him, "Wink” has been in the horse business for much of his young life. He has worked for some of the finest stables in the business and currently has his own stable operation in Eto­ wah, Tennessee. "Wink” has judged as many shows as any other top trainer for the past several years and is rated as one of the best. He has been a top contender for Celebration honors in the past and has seve­ ral highly regarded horses this season. He lives with his family in Etowah, Tennessee. (7) JIMMY HOLLO WAY-From the deep South, Jimmy Holloway has been a good representative of the Walking Horse business for many years. He has held many training positions and for the past eleven years has been trainer for the C. D. Maddox Stables inWest, Mississippi. Well liked in the business, Jimmy is active as a trainer and a judge, and last year started an annual Auction Sale in Kosciusko, Mis­ sissippi. Jimmy has a stable of top horses and should be con­ tender for top honors in 1965. The Holloway family lives in West, Mississippi. 44 (8) BUDDY HUGH-Currently working as a partner in the Green and Hugh Stables inShel- byville, Buddy is regarded as one of the finest young profes­ sional trainers now in the busi­ ness. Winner of the 1964 Junior World Championship, Buddy is expected to be a formidable con­ tender for 1965. He is rated as an excellent judge and has tied some top shows. He lives with his family in Shelbyville, and is looking forward to the 1965 season. (9) BUDDY KIRBY - The son of a gaited horse trainer, Buddy was "raised in the saddle.” He has made some top horses inhis young career and is considered by his fellow trainers as one of the best. A competent judge, Buddy will probably call the ties in several good shows this sea­ son. He is now full-time trainer for the James K. Taylor Stables in Huntsville, Alabama and lives with his wife and children near Huntsville. (10) BILLY LILES - Profes­ sional trainer for the Hy-Tyre Farms in Gibsonia,Pennsylvania for almost ten years, Billy is re­ garded highly by his colleagues. He has made some top horses and, when showing, is always a contender. Billy has had much experience tying horses and jud­ ged the Celebration in 1963. He is currently working a stable full of well-chosen stock and is reported to be ready for the 1965 season. He lives in Gibsonia with his family. (11) PERCY MOSS - A profes­ sional trainer of long-standing reputation, Percy has been high­ ly regarded since his 1954 vic­ tory on White Star in the Cele­ bration. He has worked horses for many stables and is currently full-time trainer for the Gamier Stables in Bastrop, Louisiana. Percy is considered a good judge and has tied many top shows. For this season he plans to make the Southwest Circuit as well as many other shows before the Celebration. He lives in Bastrop, Louisiana. (12) DONALD PASCHAL - One of the most popular profes­ sional trainers now showing, Donald is working out of a new stable on his farm in Woodbury, Tennessee. Having been in the business for many years, he has had many top horses including several World Champions. He judges a show occasionally and has an excellent reputation in this capacity. He presently has a stable full of horses and will be ready for the 1965 season. Donald lives with his family in Woodbury. (13) SAM PASCHAL - Trainer of three World Grand Champ­ ions, Sam is rated as one of the tops in the business. His ap­ proach to the horse business is somewhat different from other professionals in that he concen­ trates on one or two show horses only and spends the remainder of his time buying and selling. Sam seldom judges, but is con­ sidered a good one when he does. He will tie the classes at the Camp Miles Sylvania Show this year. Sam has both a training stable and a brood mare farm in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and is a contender for Championship honors again this year. (14) RICHARD (Dickie) PATE - Recently taking over manage­ ment of the new Triple T Farms, Inc. in Lewisburg, Tennessee, Dickie has worked as a full-time professional trainer for several years and is considered tops. He is married, and the family has recently moved to Lewisburg from Mississippi where he was trainer for the Circle R Stables. Dickie is an experienced judge and is frequently called upon in this capacity. He is working hard to fill the new Triple T stable at present. (15) RUSSELL PATE - Full­ time professional trainer for GLL Farms, Collierville, Tennessee, Russell has held several other training positions before assum­ ing management of this stable in 1964.
