trainers in business. An experienced judge, Russell will see a lot of action both inside the ring and on the rail this season. He has some good show stock this year, and at the first show this season received three " blues.” Russell lives on the GLL Farms.
( 16) HERSHEL TALLEY- He has been in the horse business as a trainer since 1946. At the present he is located in Baileyton, Alabama, where he is working out of a new stable built in 19 6 3. Considered by his colleagues as a top trainer and judge, Hershel has tied horses in many shows, including the 19 64 Celebration. Hershel is married and has two children. He has a stable full of good stock for the 1965 season.
( 17) JIMMY WADDELL- Regarded as a " trainer’ s trainer,” Jimmy is one of the most respected professionals now active in the Walking Horse business. He can be counted upon to hit the ring every season with some top horses. Winner of many Celebration Championships, Jimmy is in much demand as a judge and has a reputation for tying " walking horses.” He has a good string of top show horses for the 1965 season, and when the gate opens the Waddell Stables of Brownsville, Tennessee will be well-represented. He lives with his family on the Waddell Farm near the stable in Brownsville.
( 18) JACK WARREN- One of the most well-established professional trainers in the business, Jack is currently working out of his own stables in Spring Hill, Tennessee. Considered a good competitor whenever he enters the show ring, Jack is also a reputable judge. He has been at his present location for several years and is expected to come out this year with some more top horses. Jack lives with his family ill Spring Hill.
( 19) JOE WEBB- Trainer of two World Grand Champions, Joe Webb is considered tops in the business. He is active in many areas of the horse business, including the writing of a training book for Walking Horse enthusiasts. An active churchman, Joe spends a considerable amount of time on Camp Miles Sylvania, a summer camp for children which he helped start and finance. Joe recently opened his own new training stable in Searcy, Arkansas after working for the Porter Rodgers Stables for several years. He and his family live in Searcy.
( 20) DAVID WELSH- Currently working far removed from his native Tennessee, David is fulltime trainer for the Leeswood Stables in Oaks Corners, New York. Meeting the challenge of training top show horses in a new Walking Horse territory, he has done a good job of spreading the popularity of the breed in the northeast. Currently working astringofgoodhorses, David plans to come to Middle Tennessee for the summer. He is a qualified trainer and judge and will probably judge several top shows this season. He and his family have lived in New York for almost two years.
