a great asset in life and the ability to use good judgment is something that you are not born with but develop by thinking clearly and with a level head. I hope and pray that you can be as good a woman all through life as your Mother is. No more than this can I ask for. I do want you to preserve your deep faith that you have in God and continue to be active in Church. This one part of your life can be a tremendous help in times of trouble. Don’t ever ignore it. Keep your sweet disposition and don’t ever become critical of peo­ ple. I’ve always felt that if I my­ self take care of me, I’ll have my hands full without trying to or­ ganize other peoples’ lives. So keep a steady keel, keep your chin up and I am sure you will do well. You’re partly on your own—you’re the most on your own that you’ve ever been but your Father and Mo­ ther are always lurking in the shadows, ready to help you when you need help.
