Always a crowd-pleasing class, the 1964 edition of the 50 and Over Amateur Class saw some of the finest Walking Horse stock in the country. GO BOY ' S SCOOTER, tying first on one judges card and the referees card, carried W. R. Mitchell to the winners circle. One of the top performers in Amateur Classes throughout the past season, ALVIN, with the popular Pat Kimbrough up, tied second. Third was HAPPY DAYS AGAIN with Paul Randolph up for Randolph Farms. Ten top horses were tied in this class and it proved to be one of the best received classes in the show.

Sherrill Marks made her mark in this class by getting the nod on all three cards to win hands down with her highly popular GO BOY ' S JET. One of the finest young riders to come to the forefront in years, Sherrill promised to be a top contender in many classes.. The MISSISSIPPI GAMBLER, with little Hallie Goodling up
was a sure bet for second and Debbie Pollard, riding her DREAM AT MIDNIGHT tied third. Debbie has done well all season but she made the best show yet in this class. All of these young performers are to be congratulated for an excellent display of horsemanship.
