CELEBRATION PARTY( Continued from Page 14)
These guests included all seven members of the present Celebration Board of Directors; three surviving members of the original association chartered to form the Celebration corporation; Past-Presidents S. W. Beech, Jr., and J. French Brantley of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders Association, with headquarters at Lewisburg; other Celebration officials; civic club presidents; newspaper and radio representatives; and Sam Paschall, Murfreesboro, reigning world’ s grand champion trainerrider; and Mrs. Winston Wiser.
Representatives were invited from all magazines that handle Tennessee Walking Horse news but the VOICE of the Tennessee Walking Horse was the only such periodical represented.
For the VOICE there were present Associate Editors Fred Friend
BUDDY HANCOCK and Barbara Friend of Chattanooga.; Associate Editor Mary Frances Green and and Founding Editor Ben A. Green of Shelbyville.
Trainers Steve Hill of Beech Grove and Vic Thompson of Shelbyville were forced to decline invitations because of unexpected arrival of customers at their stables. Had they been present, there would have been persons on hand who represented 13 of 25 of the World’ s Grand Championships won in Celebration history. Winston Wiser has won five, Steve Hill four, Sam Paschal thre eand Vic Thompson one.
The historical summary of Celebration events included a listing of all grand championships. It paid tribute to the service given by the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders Assn, in sponsoring all Walking Horse classes for many years, and for vast efforts in sale of the Celebration 10-year boxes for $ 500
