By JUDY BYERS The VOICE takes pleasure in intro­ ducing a new Contributing Editor for the North Alabama area. This is a territory that is running over with enthusiasm and activity in the Walk­ ing Horse business, and no one could report on these activities better than Mrs. Judy Byers. We appreciate “Judy’s Jottings’’ and are sure those of you who are active in the Walking Horse business in this part of the country will be greatly interested in her column. ABOUT JUDY . . . She was born and raised in Birmingham. Has loved horses all her life and succeded in finding a husband who shared her love for horses. Judy and Bill Byers have been active in the Walking Horse business for six years, concentrating on breed­ ing. She and Bill have studied every blood-line and every source of mater­ ial concerning breeding for years in an effort to apply their efforts to de­ veloping better and better Walking Horses. They live on a 166 acre farm in Killen, Alabama (just outside Flor­ ence) and are currently working with over 30 head of horses. They buy, sell and trade registered and pleasure horses and hope to make this their only business some time in the future. Bill is currently in the Insurance busi­ ness. Their major project is to deve- lope proven colts by their stud EVEN­ ING SUN and to get some of his colts in training with top trainers. His first colt will g
