The cover of the VOICE this
month is a milestone in the history
of the Tennessee Walking Horse.
This is the first time, to our know
ledge, that any national publica
tion covering Walking Horse acti
vity, has ventured into full color.
This represents still another step
on the part of the VOICE to up-
grad e the Tennessee Walking
Horse in all parts of the nation, to
the mutual advantage of everyone.
The cover illustration was done
by Mr. Ed Heacker of Chattanooga,
Tennessee, a member of the Staff
of the Bennett T. Andrews Adver
tising Art Studio and one of the
foremost color illustrators in t h e
southeast. This picture was pro
cessed from a regular retouched
black and white action shot of the
horse. Mr. Heacker’s talents are
available only through the VOICE
of the Tennessee Walking Horse.
Included in the full color adver
tising rates is the original illustra
tion of the horse which the VOICE
presents to the owner, framed and
ready for hanging. These originals
are rare indeed and each one will
fast become a collectors item or a
family heirloom.
At this printing, the VOICE has
contracted for six other full color
illustrations in the August Pre-
Celebration Issue. This service is
available to other advertisers who
are particularly proud of their Ten
nessee Walking Horses.
