THE HI-LINE ( Contd .)
Mr . and Mrs . C . T . May of Mendenhall have just bought a beautiful strawberry roan gelding for their daughter , Randy , to show in juvenile classes .
Mr . and Mrs . Jeff Speed of Collins , Mississippi , have a two-yearold filly by JET PARADE that is just a dream — black as sin but smooth as a cloud .
Mr . and Mrs . Jimmy Smith of Mendenhall are looking for great things from “ FLAME ” this year . Those of you who do not know him have really missed a treat . He is a Show Horse that is a Show Horse , and keeps spectators on the edge of their seats ; in fact , he always will , for he is that kind of horse . Remember the name , MERRY BOY ’ S FLAME , a truly great one .
Mr . R . H . Mitchell of Mendenhall has a full brother to FLAME . He is being brought along slowly , but he will be worth waiting for .
Jimmie Holloway of West , Mississippi , tells me he has a barn full and really has some good ones : three top two-vear-old studs , two three-year-old geldings , a threeyear-old stud , two three-year-old mares and plenty of aged horses . He is really proud of Billy Duncan ' s World Champion four-yearold gelding , SUNSET BLAZE . Above all , though , Jimmie is excited about his forthcoming Second Annual Walking Horse Sale . It will be held at Kosciusko Fair Grounds on March 27 and 28 . There will be

Estessa Stables of Kentwood , Louisiana , is growing steadily with new horses that all seem to be fine prospects . Their trainer , young Paul Sanderford , was working with the late Eddie Winer at the time of his death , but has now joined up with the Estesses . He is working two MIDNIGHT BOMB colts — a filly , BOMB ’ S BLUE RHAPSODY owned by Mr . and Mrs . R . W . Mc Kay of Magnolia , Mississippi , and BOMB ’ S SUNBURST , a stud , for Mrs . J . L . Hammons of Kentwood . He has a three-year-old stud by BOYCE ’ S BILLY SUNDAY with a flat walk out of this world . This young horse is being groomed and readied for Mr . J . W . Wright of Summerdale , Alabama , to show this year . Mr . Wright and Mr . Estess look for big things to happen this year for their Junior Stallion , HIGH VOLTAGE AT MIDNIGHT . He looks pretty as a picture , a deep sorrel with one of those “ fascinatin ’ back-ends .” As a two-year-old VOLTAGE did very well , but he is now developing into real dynamo — as his name implies . The pride of the barn , however , is a little mare that never knows when to stop
