SUMMERTOWN , TENNESSEE WALKING HORSE LOVERS FORM CLUB
Mary Elizebeth Trousdale of Summertown , Tennessee sent in a notice that their little town has organized a “ Saddle and Bridle ” Club . Only one month old , the organization already has over twenty members , including several youngsters . She states that they welcome the participation of horselovers from nearby towns and counties and points out that their only goal is to further an interest in horseback riding for pleasure . Mrs . Trousdale also said that the major interest as far as riding stock is concerned centers in Tennessee Walking Horses and that those members who do not own Walking Horses are deligently searching for them . More news on the “ Summertown Saddle and Bridle Club ” will be forthcoming in other issues of the VOICE !_____________

TIPS ON TRAINING By JOE WEBB
HOW DO YOU SELECT THE SIRE FOR YOUR COLT ?
ANSWER :
Find a sire that has great walking ability and has proven it . Look for one with a fine even disposition . Choose the sire you need to produce the size colt you desire from your particular mare . Study your mare ’ s movements and select a sire that is outstanding in any characteristics your mare might be weak in - either in action or conformation . Don ’ t let money or distance stand in your way . None of the walking horse stud fees are priced too high . In the long run , it is just as cheap to raise a good colt as it is to raise a mediocre one . It costs no more to feed and care for the finest colt than for the least favored one . $ o °° O per copy
