WORLD ’ S CHAMPION

September , 1963
THE IMPALA
Owner-Amateur on Walking Stallions
Demonstrating once again that both she and her horses have truly championship quality , popular Kay McFarland swept two of the coveted championships at the 1963 National Celebration , and then finished very strong as Reserve Champion in the big Owner-Amateur Stake . Monday night Kay rode MIDNIGHT QUEEN BEE to the blue in the class for Owner-Amateur Lady Riders on Walking Mares or Geldings . Tuesday night she repeated on THE IMPALA in the Owner-Amateur on Walking Stallions . Saturday night , again riding THE IMPALA , Kay won the Reserve Championship in the Owner-Amateur Walking Championship Stake . Although continuing her demanding legal studies , Kay expects to be a strong contender for honors in the amateur championships of the major shows .
