WORLD’ S CHAMPION

September, 1963
THE IMPALA
Owner-Amateur on Walking Stallions
Demonstrating once again that both she and her horses have truly championship quality, popular Kay McFarland swept two of the coveted championships at the 1963 National Celebration, and then finished very strong as Reserve Champion in the big Owner-Amateur Stake. Monday night Kay rode MIDNIGHT QUEEN BEE to the blue in the class for Owner-Amateur Lady Riders on Walking Mares or Geldings. Tuesday night she repeated on THE IMPALA in the Owner-Amateur on Walking Stallions. Saturday night, again riding THE IMPALA, Kay won the Reserve Championship in the Owner-Amateur Walking Championship Stake. Although continuing her demanding legal studies, Kay expects to be a strong contender for honors in the amateur championships of the major shows.
