Class No. 34
WALKING PONIES, 58" AND UNDER, RIDERS 14 AND UNDER
This was a preliminary to the big “Walk
ing Pony” Championship and each rider
was determined to show his best. Ray
Beech, riding LITTLE BIT O’ TROUBLE
put on a flawless, rail-side performance to
win the blue with 3 first place nods. He
was pushed right through the workout by
SETTING SUN’S LITTLE MAN, ridden
by Jerry Jester who made a determined bid
for top honors. He received 2nd spot by the
judges and 3rd by the referee. Third in the
line up of winners was Dick Reese on
LITTLE DUDE and fourth was taken by
Ann Daugcttc on her SIR HENRY’S

WALKING GELDINGS, FOUR-YEARS-OLD AND OVER
When Steve Hill rode up to get the blue
and trophy for the class there was no
mistaking the award. HILLS PERFEC
TION was definitely a “big going gelding”
with a crowd-pleasing front end. Here, said
many, is a dark horse contender for the big
one. Steve received the bid from the No. 2
judge and the referee and No. 2 by the
call judge. The second spot went to Jimmy
Holloway on HAPPY DAYS AGAIN, a
horse that didn’t make a “bobble” the
whole way. Donald Paschal, on GO BOY’S
BIG MAN showed strong enough to tie
third in a hard-fought contest. Forth was
COLLEGE BOY, the horse with an edu
cated beat, with Roy Starkey in the saddle.
From start to finish . . . the other ribbons
were in doubt. 29 good horses gave an
all-out performance.
