PARTY LINE Another Message from the

Voice Secretary Dear Friends : —
Here I come again ! It is getting to be a habit and 1 love it ! After writing the Column —" Keep Talking " and seeing that “ The Editor ” still hasn ’ t been ringing the Party Line near enough , I ’ ve decided to combine the two columns and call it all " Party Line .” That way , I can give you some of the messages from both the short and longer letters . I told " His Honor ” today my intentions and he said it looked as if I was trying to take over ! Well , it is high time someone shared these wonderful letters with you ! Besides , I am the older ! If that wasn ’ t a dirty dig for him to pul in Caroline ’ s letter , I ' ve never seen one ! Especially since I ’ m just a matter of months older ! From now ' on His life is in danger ! The idea of broadcasting a woman ’ s age to the entire Voice World !
One other thing that has me upset is that as soon as we moved the office out of the house , it turned really cold — not just “ Black Berry Cold ” and Ye Editor is working half in and half out of the house ! Maybe I should just lock him out and let him freeze but that isn ’ t half bad enough after having him divulge my age ! I ’ ll think of something much worse ! Do you blame me ? 1 know my women friends are with me !
* * * A Catholic Priest ’ s Viewpoint Here are a few treasured lines from Rev . Paul M . O ’ Connor , Priest of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church ( 201 Cooper Ave .) Woodlynne 6 , New Jersey . They are greatly appreciated by both of us . My eyes and throat sort of hurt while reading them . These lines were written just before the Celebration in 1962 .
“ It only takes a moment to express one ' s thoughts and reveal one ’ s gratitude . This letter carries my most sincere thanks and appreciation to you and your wife for the many hours of joy your magazine the Voice has brought me , a Catholic Priest , lover and owner of a registered Walker . For this , I am grateful and congratulate you for your efforts in bringing so much happiness to so many .
" Undoubtedly , the Celebration will be colorful and exciting as usual and will feature one of the greatest horse participation activities the citizens of this country will ever have had the opportunity of witnessing . Unfortunately again , I will be unable to attend the Celebration due to duty . However , in great anticipation of a day by day coverage during Celebration Week , I would be pleased if you forwarded me your Times Gazette Report .”

‘ True Bargain ’ at $ 4.00
Two of our friends , Stan & Jean Moseley , 2844 Laurel Ridge Drive , Decatur , Georgia , cheered us up with this nice note :
" The past twelve issues of the Voice have been very enjoyable reading for us both . Our two colts have given us an immeasurable amount of pleasure and a lot of understanding about the Walker has been the result of our reading your magazine and your book . True bargains are rare on the market today , and we feel fortunate to be able to purchase your magazine for the bargain price of S4.00 a year .”
* * * Cita And Spouse Move Because Of Their ‘ Goldie ’
Our good friends , Cita Wideman and her Doctor husband have moved — all on account of a Tennessee Walking Horse ! Cita says :
“ You might like to learn about another triumph of a Tennessee Walking Horse ! After many years of City — and Suburban life , we finally decided to move out into the country to live with our horses on the same ground . No more boarding out necessary !
" Goldie was first boarded in Washington , D . C . I had to drive daily 29 miles to ride and see him — then we boarded him here in Virginia in a public sLable where I had to take care of him , but still we did not live with him ! Even Dr . Wideman got interested in horses , so we bought a country home in Warrenton , Va . with enough acres , a paddock , a riding ring and a real stream on the ground to keep a few horses .
" Our retired mare , who was boarded out for years , will of course , move in ! So we will start out with two Walkers . 1 will have to build a stable first , as the sheds on the grounds are not good enough for our horses ! So , Goldie won — It will be a great change for us and probably more work , but it will be fun , every minute of it . ( I hope Dr . Wideman Will think so too ??)
“ We always look forward to getting your magazine . I wish our Virginian folks would write more , advertise more and convey lo us more news thru you . The Californians are the busiest .”
* # * California Speaks Again Maxine Lieiz , 4325 Torrance Blvd .,
Torrance , Calif , writes the following heart-warming letter to the Voice Editor :
“ When I was a very little girl living in Mentone , Ala ., my father took me to see a Term . Walking Horse and I fell in love with the Walkers the minute I saw them . Our family moved to Chicago . For years I dreamed of owning a Tenn . Walker . I finally wound up in California and it took two years of looking before I found a mare I wanted . Her name is Martha ’ s Belle Me .
“ Then 1 started looking for magazines , Walking Horse people and books to learn more about the breed . I bought your Biography and have read it from cover to cover many times but I have learned more through the Voice than from any other source . You have made it so human , it makes me feel like you personally care about each person who loves horses .
" Through a stud registry ad in your magazine , I located the people here in California who bred my mare . Through Mr . Paul Hughes , who has the H & M Stables in Long Beach , I contacted the owners of High Sierra who was my mare ’ s dam . They were the McArthurs of Cudahy , Calif . I have met many fine people through the Voice .
“ I know that you have many lovely things inside you to have accomplished what you have with your family and the Voice .”
* * * Kalamazoo Reports Meetings Dr . John Sackett , 3907 South Westnedge Ave ., Kalamazoo , Mich , writes : —“ We want to be included in the long and growing list of people who are happy that your Voice magazine is continuing . The popularity of the Walking Horse is growing by leaps and bounds in Michigan .
" In the Southwestern Michigan area alone , we have a social group whose central interest is the Walking Horse . 7 llc average attendance per meeting is seventy . You and Mrs . Green would be happy to know that the many articles ol interest in your publication are often the center of the conversations at these meetings . We hope that your publication continues for years to come .”
* * * Family Vacation Planned
Mr . 1 albert B . Hughes , manager of the Federal Land Bank of Johnson City , I enn ., wrote many weeks ago inviting the Editor and his wife to use his Lake Cabin for a vacation of one or two weeks . The Editor hemmed and hawed at first , but Yours
