KEEP TALKING '

By Voice Secretary
Mary Frances Explains Dear Friends :—
1 have written this column " Keep Talking ” for three reasons : 1st , because your Editor and I sincerely appreciate all the wonderful things you have said about the Voice ; 2nd , because Ben is so snowed under with Walking Horse news of all kinds for the magazine that he hasn ’ t had time to do justice to the Party Line and 1 want you to keep finding friends throught the Voice ; and 3rd , because I ' m tired of contacting you through remote control !
We women must keep our men in their place and I intend to pul in my two cent ' s worth ! I ' m afraid Ben ' s new hat is going to get too small for him , if you keep praising the Voice , but honestly , he laps it up like a kitten drinking milk and to use an old Alabama saying : ‘ He ' s as happy as a dead
pig in the sunshine .” As for your renewals , please keep them coming , so we can get the records straight for our second year . This is especially important since we are changing printers and all name plates are having to be re-cut . Notices of expiration dates were not sent out with March issue , so please check your expiration date and let us hear from you .
Down home in Alabama , we register for Cash Jack Pot weekly drawings at the picture show and a person ’ s name is never taken out until he dies . We feel that way about your renewals . We want them all and if you don ’ t want the Voice , you ' ll just have to die or yell " Slop It ."
However , we do need the nice kopecks ( Russian money ) that your renewals bring in .
Remember , that I still love you people more that the horses !
Many thanks to all of you wonderful Subscribers who make the Voice possible . Sincerely , MARY FRANCES

“ Ben , my family and I have enjoyed your magazine the entire year . Everyone in Southern California who has Walkers is reading the magazine from cover to cover . I pass my copies along to friends , hoping to get them started in Walking Horses . Since I last wrote you a few things have happened to me . First , my filly — Joy Boots — got a third at the California Futurity . Next I got married and with the union 1 acquired a Merry Go Boy Mare , named Go Boy ’ s Imp . Then next we packed up and moved to Oregon with the hopes of raising Walking Horses , so keep the Voice coming .” A . Johnson , 575 S . W . Spring Lane , Portland 25 , Oregon .
