Air Force Major To Develop Stable
( This letter from U. S. Air Force Major Harold N. Davis, Columbus Air Force Base in Mississippi should be of special interest to our Voice Friends. BAG)
“ Dear Mr. Green:
“ I have just finished reading the copy of the Voice of the Tennessee Walking Horse that you sent me. I was really impressed with it and am requesting that you put me on your mailing list as soon as possible.
“ My wife, daughter and I are new in the Walking Horse business and only have one two-year-old filly at present. She is being trained by Mr. Hershel Talley of Tuscaloosa, Ala. We have hopes of showing her next year as a three-year-olcl if she continues to train well.
“ On Dec. 12, 1962, I will have completed twenty years active duty in the U. S. Air Force. We are planning on having a small stable of Walking Horses when retirement time comes around in about 4 or 5 years. In the meantime we hope to learn and to become as well acquainted with the Walking Horse as possible.
“ In addition to The Voice I would also like to place an order for your new book. My daughter asked me to ask you to please autograph our copy for her.
“ I thank you very much for our first copy of The Voice and we all are looking forward to future issues."
( Major, we know many of our Voice Friends will welcome you into the Tennessee Walking Horse fold. You will find people who love the Tennessee Walking Horse are friendly and they want to help others. Tuscaloosa is dear to my heart, as I lived there for years, my three sons were born there, and when Mary Frances and I were married Aug. 17, 1961, it was in the home of President and Mrs. Samuel Burney Hay at Stillman College, a Presbyterian institution. Welcome Brother. BAG.)
