ENTERTAINMENT • She was a columnist for the television show “Noir de monde” were a betting man, I’d place my money on the odds that predict - she’s unstoppable! • She has written 22 television scripts • She performed in the lead role of the Vagina Monologs play in Toronto in 2014, and coincidently - every show was completely sold out and has now been asked to play the role again • She established her own production company called My Destiny Productions • She wrote, directed, and produced her own web series called 13 Witches which according to my count has collectively received 2,709,659 views on YouTube alone and in all fairness: 18 of those are mine • She wrote, directed and produced a movie called ‘Insanity’ which was featured at multiple film festivals around the world • Sabine also started the Open World Toronto Film Festival or OWTFF in 2015 Of course there are loads of other achievements in Sabine’s career such as having web series 13 Witches mentioned in the New York Times, and of course receiving the prestigious award for “Outstanding Web Producing for a Sci-Fi Horror Series” at the LAWEB festival in LA, California to name a few. Oh, did I mention for all you fashion world fans out there that she has her own shoe blog, which I have to admit is fabulously done? Sabine considers her shoe blog more of a hobby but actually her blog is producing thousands and thousands of views each month and growing. What’s wrong with me?? I nearly forgot she also has a singing career and is selling her songs on Amazon. Quite frankly, Sabine Modestin may possibly be one of the hardest working people I have ever met. One thing is for sure, she is driven! If you consider what you’ve read so far to be amazing accomplishments, please note this author agrees with you. I’ve had the great honor of Interviewing Miss Sabine Mondestin and I have to admit she’s truly surprised me at every step of this article. She has found a way to build tremendous momentum for her career, despite the staggering odds stacked against her. If I Q: You always showed interest in theater and writing. Was there anything particular that drove you to that? A: When I was young even though I was bullied at school, I just LOVED being in front of the class. It was the only time I felt alive and happy. I was 5 years old and I was always looking forward to reading in from of the class or to do the "Show and Tell" exercise. When my mother realized it, she put me in a theater program at 6 years old. To be very honest with you I think I am just a natural performer and nothing else makes me happy ...It may seems strange but it's just the way I am. As for writing, when I was young I was not allowed to watch TV so I needed to find a way to entertain myself. I use to write stories to make me forget the fact that I was not watching TV like the other kids. Sometimes I would watch the beginning of a show and I will write the end….I was just 5 years old. Since then I never stop writing script-Partly to entertain myself and also because I have so many stories in my head. 21 1961 Magazine Fall 2016
